I recommend reading this article by Nobel Laureate Robert Shiller. It is very well written. He is careful not to bind himself to an unachievable task: predicting the future. Also, he pokes fun at the situation in a non-partisan way:
“If he ever reveals his financial information, or if his family is able to use his influence as president to improve its bottom line, he might even prove to be successful in business.”
At the end of the article I could not help but ponder if investing in the stock market in the current context is akin to playing “hot potato.”
